Asset Management - Cases Studies
Hogan Associates were appointed by NHS Estates to seek capital and revenue savings initially across the 18 Trusts forming the North West London Strategic Health Authority (and subsequently the 28 Trusts forming the Thames Valley Strategic Health Authority).
The initiative was called "SEAM"(Strategic Estates Asset Management) and was a fuse to ignite similar schemes through out the UK. The appointment also analyzed all UK hospital cleaning standards at a time when MRSA was particularly prevalent.
Additionally, we brought in a (GIS) mapping company (esri.com) to apply health data, in map form, to improve technical decision making for determining where hospitals should be open or closed in the future.
The SEAM initiatives, have been developed by the NHS into “SHAPE” (shape.dh.gov.uk) which, for example, considers the physical property providing clinical services.
Hogan Associates also managed the Estates facility at a 5,000 student FE College in Reigate, Surrey which included a capital and revenue cost saving audit and implementation. The role was extended from 3 to 14 months.
We are currently supporting a prominent London Council in harvesting major savings, post the election of the new Coalition Government.
